A note from your local Department of Children and Families

May is National Foster Care Month and we at the Department for Children and Families, Family Services Division would like to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful foster and kinship foster families in our community.

Because of their hard work and dedication, we are able to live up to our mission to “keep local kids local”.  To continue doing this, we need foster homes in every community, for children of all ages and needs. It truly does take a community to raise a child!

Being a foster family is one of the most rewarding opportunities a family can have. They not only provide safe, temporary homes for children, but also support parents as they work towards reunifying with their children.

To learn about becoming a foster parent, please call Joan Rock, Resource Coordinator at The Morrisville District Family Services at 802-888-1375 or   Or go to

If you know a foster/kinship foster family, please take a moment to thank them for making a difference in the lives of children and families.
